Rain Rain and more rain
The Pineapple Express!

We have had so much rain in the last 24 plus hours! It has not stopped and it isnt a drizzle but a steady downpour.....I am ready to build an ark... The pouring rain is the result of the "Pineapple Express" weather pattern, named for the storms' origins near Hawaii. The jet stream has dipped far to the south and tapped into that warm, tropical moisture. So another very wet day is on tap for Western Washington as a second storm rolls in on the heels of one that brought several inches of rain to the mountains and lowlands. Seattle already has more rain in the past day than it received in all of October. Flood Warnings remain in effect. As of last evening, storm totals were already running between 2.50 and 3.00" along the north coast. In the lowlands, storm totals were about 1.50" to 2.50" as of 4 am., including the Puget Sound area. Hourly rainfall totals have been as high as a quarter to a third of an inch an hour.

We have a new president which brings us hope and that's a great glimmer of light.....But now Prop 8 looks to be getting defeated in California which will be a major setback....WTF!!! But I know we will have to overcome and its just another battle lost......more battles will come and we will be ready and we will soon prevail-- In the meantime here is something to make us feel better....do you suppose that flag is at least 500 thread count?
Congrats to Our New Mr President Barack Obama. Change is in order for sure and now the real work begins for all of us. Our new leaders give me great hope and I really believe as well as most Americans right now that it the right time for change and if we all come together and all work together we can build a better nation for all of us. God Bless America.

Five surgeons from big cities are discussing who makes the best patients to operate on.
The first surgeon, from New York , says, 'I like to see accountants on my operating table because when you open them up, everything inside is numbered.'
The second, from Chicago , responds, 'Yeah, but you should try electricians! Everything inside them is color coded.'
The third surgeon, from Houston , says, 'No, I really think librarians are the best, everything inside them is in alphabetical order'.
The fourth surgeon, from Los Angeles chimes in: 'You know, I like construction workers.. Those guys always understand when you have a few parts left over.'
But the fifth surgeon, from Washington , DC shut them all up when he observed: 'You're all wrong. Politicians are the easiest to operate on. There's no guts, no heart, no balls, no brains and no spine, and the head and the ASS are interchangeable.

Halloween Bash

Halloween bash on Saturday night was a gas! Hubby and I went as Amy Winehouse...can you tell? I will post the full set of pics soon.... All I can say about these is no no no...

Madge Review

The crowd was huge! I guess tickets sold out in a matter of minutes to fill the 60,000 seats of BC Place for her first ever concert in Vancouver! So the city was alive with Madonna mania! Everyone we chatted with was in towns for Madge concert and the hotels were packed (in fact our hotel gave away our room but it all worked out as they figured it out rather quickly a solution after they had 4 of us give them a piece of our minds) We arrived at the venue at around 7 as she was slated to start at 730 but we all knew she would be running late...bought our t shirts ( $50 each-- highway robbery) and then proceeded to our 11th row seats. We hung out in the beer garden first and got a good table to watch all the people for a hour or so ...that was better than going to any zoo for the day! Nuff said about the Canadians and how they were ummm dressed......anyhow

Madge started at 930-- 2 hours late...I think this was due to the fact to get all those people in the damm place....the concert was flawless----she was hot---- Music was jamming and dancing/choreography and all that is Madonna and why we love her was in front of me LIVE and in color! SO AWESOME! I didn't faint or cry as I had expected and I was on cloud nine.

Now for the parts that puzzled me a bit......So the crowd was a bit strange.....I dont know how to explain it besides saying they were stiff.....they didn't dance much or sing or scream or you know... act like someone at a concert like Madonna....some people sat in there seats and watched the video screens the whole time......some friends told me this is probaly because the concert was in Canada and they are much more reserved.... as they have seen concerts in London and it was the same.......I guess its just different in the states huh? I really thought this strange acting crowd was the reason Madge didn't engage or talk to the audience much as I think she maybe engaged the audience maybe 3 times at the most. My only gripe is that I didn't feel a connection to her like I have with other performers....You would think being in the 11th row you would......I cant imagine being anywhere else in that stadium unless closer......I rather rent the DVD to watch a concert if that would of been the case. I mentioned this to friends and they all reminded me that Madge is just like that.....She isn't one to beg for your love -- she wants your love and attention as thinks she deserves it rather than giving it.......Her aloofness makes her seem more inaccessible but then again this is more of a character of a a true superstar isnt it? It's a strange contradiction and I guess it has been said that she can be a tough woman to handle onstage. But I think it's good to go in knowing ( which I didn't) what to expect from her as she isn't the type of artist begging for your love. Here is a few pics I downloaded...more to come soon! They are fuzzy as I was dancing like a mad man!!

Weekend Recap-
Halloween Haunted Tours- And Dog Parades

Friday night was the Haunted History Tour which was fun and quite educational. The Georgetown area is rich with Seattle history so it was a good time and we all learned alot. They all put in alot of hard work and were all so passionate about it all and so it was very cool. It was sorta a long trek so I am very happy I wore the boot--which BTW is going well. I am suppose to be wearing it to 11-13 which is the date for my next follow up on the fracture leg/ankle. Last update was on 10-9 and the x rays looked good and it is healing well.... but ever so slowly. Docs wants me in the boot for another 5 weeks or so. We had our sippy cups and drank grape vodka ( instead of hot cocoa) as we went through the tour which was perfect. At the end of the tour I was glad I wore the boot as my leg was a bit tired and sore but I think it was due from me having to heave that heavy boot thing around more than walking on it! After the tour we went over to some friends for a late dinner and appletini cocktails--- ( I kinda wished we had the opportunity to have stayed at the brewhouse to mingle more with the Georgetown tour folk myself as they were a fun bunch but......) we then got home at about 1030-- had a nice buzz which was well deserved after the long week we had and then fell fast asleep with the doggies who was happy to have us home...

Saturday morning got up early and hubby pressed some Tully coffee-- My favorite! It was going to be a beautiful day! So decided we would be going to the Boo Festival in our town and partaking in the Doggie Costume Parade. We ran around and did some errands and went out looking for dog costumes and found skeleton outfits for the Shih Tzus and a pumpkin T for Lola (who just turned 5 months). At the last moment I remembered I had my skeleton outfit from last Halloween and decided to wear it in the parade walk with the dogs and then we would all match! It wasn't a plan at all at the time we got the outfits but I'm glad I thought of it. The parade was only about 2 blocks long and you went up and down once in a circle-- there was about 100-150 dogs or so and the street was lined with kids in costumes as they were having a trick o treat with all the shops that afternoon as well-- It was super fun to be in the parade and alot of them got a big kick out of us.... so the skeletons were a hit. Or maybe it was the skin tight Skeleton outfit? Anyhow Im glad my ass was able to fit it! Does my ass look fat in this? LOL....We had our picture taken a bunch that's for sure! This is a few we got on our camera.....and I was willing to post as they were not great--I did notice I am in need of a tan and to start a crash diet looking at most of them! Anyhow........ . I hope to get some others pics as I am awaiting ones our friends took and I will post them as well as they took a few more as they sat at the MARK restaurant sipping cosmos as everyone went by....I should of marched with a cosmo in hand. It was a great afternoon and a beautiful sunny fall day with the wind blowing autumn leaves all around. Had a few rounds of cosmos and enjoyed the afternoon and all the kids and dogs that were dressed up...Later we went home and we did a nice dinner and drinks with our friends and had a lovely fall evening. Had Creme Brulee for dessert too....MMMMMM!

Sunday-- Cleaned the house, did some laundry and a few errands....and had a relaxing afternoon. Now I am back at work....its a 3 day work week! hope it goes fast....
