Adam Sandler's faux gay comedy "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry" charmed $34.8 million from moviegoers its first weekend in theaters to beat off Hairspray and "Harry Pooter /Cooter" last week and then this weekend The Simpson Movie came in first with Chuck and Larry following close behind....."Chuck and Larry," stars Sandler and Kevin James as heterosexual Brooklyn firefighters who pose as a gay couple to qualify for domestic-partner benefits.. So many mixed reviews and I'm not sure if its good or not-- I know its popular with the straights--I have heard from number of hetros at work and out on how funny it is--Strange thing is I haven't heard of any of my gay posse seeing it.... I think we can wait for the vid...

By now I'm sure you know that Tammy Faye Messner died on Friday following a raw, emotional appearance the night before on Larry King Live. She was 65. Tammy Faye had been battling cancer since 1996.

Messner, who stood out on Christian television in the 80's for reaching out to gay men afflicted with AIDS at a time when Ronald Reagan refused to even mention the disease, said: "I refuse to label people. We’re all just people made out of the same old dirt, and God didn’t make any junk."
Her son, Jay Bakker, posted this message on his website over the weekend:

"After fighting cancer for eleven years, my mother passed away on July 20 at 4AM. She had a very peaceful death and is no longer in pain. To grant her wish she was cremated today and her ashes were buried at a private ceremony. The service was performed by my good friend Randy McCain of Open Door Community Church in Sherwood, AR. Thank you to everyone for their prayers and support over the years - it has helped me more than you will ever know. Please continue to pray for her husband Roe as well as the rest of my family. A public ceremony is currently being planned - an update will be sent once the details are finalized along with where to send flowers. I ask that all press would please allow me to grieve privately at this time. Thank you"

Ok.... an older film but good one!!! Got a bit involved watching this as I flipped around last night and on Logo came across this movie-- seen it awhile back when it came out in 2000...forgot how much of good story it was... I had a major crush on Danny Dyer at the time and Shawn Hatosy isn't hard on the eyes either..It was nice to see it again.. Wonder what these fellas are up to these days..

SEATTLE -- Cooling centers were open in many Western Washington locations on Wednesday afternoon as temperatures crept toward -- or exceeded -- record highs for the day.
The temperature at Sea-Tac Airport hit 98 degrees breaking the record for this date of 95, set in 1951,! Not only is it a record, but it is one of a handful of times when Sea-Tac has hit the upper 90s in the last 10 years!
The all-time high for Sea-Tac Airport is 100, set on July 20, 1994-- Thursday's hi temps will be a bit better with a high of 85 degrees which should continue into the weekend.

SEATTLE -- Expect record heat on Wednesday across much of the interior of Western Washington, forecasters said. The KIRO 7 Pinpoint Severe Weather Center said temperatures will be in the 90s to 100 degrees, 15 to 25 degrees above normal.
The record for this date is 95, set in 1951. The all-time high for Sea-Tac Airport is 100, set on July 20, 1994The 99 degrees recorded in Hoquiam on Tuesday was an all-time high. The National Weather Service said the previous record was 98 set in 1981 and 1961.
Forecasters also said records for Tuesday's date were 86 at Bellingham, and 85 at Stampede Pass.

Temperatures should start to ease on Thursday and cool into the weekend.
High temperatures also are forecast for Eastern Washington--in the upper 90s and breaking 100 through Saturday.
