DAY WITHOUT GAYS
We are calling for a nationwide strike and economic boycott by all members of our Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered community AND OUR STRAIGHT ALLIES on December 10th, 2008, International Human Rights Day.WHY SHOULD WE DO IT?Because LGBT workers, business owners, consumers and taxpayers contribute over $700 billion to the American economy and we deserve the same rights as all other Americans. Because marriage is a basic human right for ALL Americans, regardless of gender, race OR religion. (See the US Supreme Court Case LOVING v VIRGINIA).WHAT SHOULD WE DO?Strike! Call in gay, shut down your business, or just take the day off. Boycott! Don't buy anything, spend money or support the economy. Participate! Give back, fight back, build bridges to help raise awareness about marriage equality.Fora list of things to do in your area, go here

Twilight Opens Today!
Twilight opens today and I am just as excited as the rest of the tween girl population and gay guys that also loved the book like me... I am however going to wait a week or so to see it---I'm thinking we go see it over the Thanksgiving weekend. I am excited it has arrived but I am pretty sure I can wait past this weekend so the screamers are not in full force. I don't think I could take all the giggles and sighs from a bunch of tween girls....Not if it was a bunch of tween boys that would be another story. Cast photos from Vanity Fair

I am STRESSED and a little depressed....
Too much going on-- So I started my new changed job position today----instead of a layoff ( which they did and let go 20% of our office -- they did a reorg in my area and now I am in a new sales position)..... this is ok but its a new thing so I have a bit of some butterflies.. On my mind of course is the big car crash in our yard yesterday.....and also our car that we had that hit and run on a few weeks ago. We will now have to pay 2 deductibles one for the house yard damage and one for the car so cash is tight....And unless I take these people to court we will never see any resolution so I can kiss this $ goodbye.... and I have a zit... and the dogs need to be groomed and I dont have any time off from this new job to recoup.....ayyyyyyyy!! So can you hear me screaming from where you are?

From LOGO TV!
I hope all you homos enjoyed last nights premiere episode as much as I did. WELCOME baby Dixie! It was about bloggers and so much more as well......Now doesnt it feel good to be back in the foul-mouthed West Lahunga? This show just cracks me up! I love it! Check out a sneak peak of next week's episode (which will air next Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Logo)---After Dana's Scary Lesbian birth, the whole crew - with baby Dixie, too! - embarks on the consistently-pleasant drive home. Well, until Mother Nature intervenes and Kirsten begins to notice her biracial baby isn't looking so biracial...Then get ready for an uber-gay retelling of The Wizard of Oz... even gay-er than Wicked... seriously! If you haven't you all NEED to check out this show!

Twlight
The Movie
I got roped in to the Twilight mania that has been going on and about to explode alot more when the movie is released next week. After months of my gal pals all over the world ranting and raving about the books and the whole series ( some of them have read them multiple times) I finally picked up the book (received many weeks ago from a friend) and started reading it on Monday. I must admit it is pretty good book and definitely a modern day vampire love story. I can see why girls and women all over the world is going ga ga over it. Its kinda like how I would imagine an updated harlequin romance would be. I do look forward to the movie that opens next Friday and for what I have seen clip wise of the movie it should be doing the book justice. So get ready for some Twlight mania as who is not into vampires anyhow-- I love it and being romanced by a very attractive vampire named Edward is a bonus indeed!!

A National Protest
I know we will be doing this on Saturday. I do hope you all do the same if you can in your areas.
From Gay.com
If you've been watching our brothers and sisters protesting the passage of Prop 8 in California wishing that there was something you could do to help, there is: A group called Join The Impact is planning a national protest against Prop 8, organizing simultaneous rallies on the steps of City Halls all over the country from Mobile, Alabama to Laramie, Wyoming on Saturday, November 15th at 10:30 a.m. PST/1:30 p.m. EST.
While the passage of Prop 8 is getting the most press, it should be noted that this protest is also being held to rally against Arizona's Prop 102 and Florida's Prop 2, both of which banned gay marriage, as well as the Arkansas Adoption Ban, which prevents unwed couples from adopting children.
Visit Jointheimpact.com to find the protest nearest you, and if you don't see your city listed, round up a few friends to serve as organizers, and ask the group to add it to the list.
Citing the Stonewall Riots of 1969, which marked the birth of the gay rights movement, Join The Impact urges us all to come together again to show the nation that we are "one loud voice that needs to be heard."
"We won’t solve everything in one protest, but we will fuel the fire to a conversation that can not be silenced! If we stop talking about equality for all, then we will lose the battle. If we allow others to stop talking about it, then we will lose. Hate is not the lack of love, it’s the fear of that which we do not know. This protest along with many others gives us the chance to build on the conversation and educate the masses," a statement on the site reads. "It’s very simple: Infiltrate, Educate, and STOP HATE!"
I'm in. How about you? We need to show the rest of America we are tired of being treated like second-class citizens

Rain Rain and more rain
The Pineapple Express!
We have had so much rain in the last 24 plus hours! It has not stopped and it isnt a drizzle but a steady downpour.....I am ready to build an ark... The pouring rain is the result of the "Pineapple Express" weather pattern, named for the storms' origins near Hawaii. The jet stream has dipped far to the south and tapped into that warm, tropical moisture. So another very wet day is on tap for Western Washington as a second storm rolls in on the heels of one that brought several inches of rain to the mountains and lowlands. Seattle already has more rain in the past day than it received in all of October. Flood Warnings remain in effect. As of last evening, storm totals were already running between 2.50 and 3.00" along the north coast. In the lowlands, storm totals were about 1.50" to 2.50" as of 4 am., including the Puget Sound area. Hourly rainfall totals have been as high as a quarter to a third of an inch an hour.

We have a new president which brings us hope and that's a great glimmer of light.....But now Prop 8 looks to be getting defeated in California which will be a major setback....WTF!!! But I know we will have to overcome and its just another battle lost......more battles will come and we will be ready and we will soon prevail-- In the meantime here is something to make us feel better....do you suppose that flag is at least 500 thread count?
Congrats to Our New Mr President Barack Obama. Change is in order for sure and now the real work begins for all of us. Our new leaders give me great hope and I really believe as well as most Americans right now that it the right time for change and if we all come together and all work together we can build a better nation for all of us. God Bless America.

Hope you all went to the polls today or have sent your absentee ballots! Todays the day we may be able to make some changes to our country!!
The first surgeon, from New York , says, 'I like to see accountants on my operating table because when you open them up, everything inside is numbered.'
The second, from Chicago , responds, 'Yeah, but you should try electricians! Everything inside them is color coded.'
The third surgeon, from Houston , says, 'No, I really think librarians are the best, everything inside them is in alphabetical order'.
The fourth surgeon, from Los Angeles chimes in: 'You know, I like construction workers.. Those guys always understand when you have a few parts left over.'
But the fifth surgeon, from Washington , DC shut them all up when he observed: 'You're all wrong. Politicians are the easiest to operate on. There's no guts, no heart, no balls, no brains and no spine, and the head and the ASS are interchangeable.

Madge Review
The crowd was huge! I guess tickets sold out in a matter of minutes to fill the 60,000 seats of BC Place for her first ever concert in Vancouver! So the city was alive with Madonna mania! Everyone we chatted with was in towns for Madge concert and the hotels were packed (in fact our hotel gave away our room but it all worked out as they figured it out rather quickly a solution after they had 4 of us give them a piece of our minds) We arrived at the venue at around 7 as she was slated to start at 730 but we all knew she would be running late...bought our t shirts ( $50 each-- highway robbery) and then proceeded to our 11th row seats. We hung out in the beer garden first and got a good table to watch all the people for a hour or so ...that was better than going to any zoo for the day! Nuff said about the Canadians and how they were ummm dressed......anyhow
Madge started at 930-- 2 hours late...I think this was due to the fact to get all those people in the damm place....the concert was flawless----she was hot---- Music was jamming and dancing/choreography and all that is Madonna and why we love her was in front of me LIVE and in color! SO AWESOME! I didn't faint or cry as I had expected and I was on cloud nine.
Now for the parts that puzzled me a bit......So the crowd was a bit strange.....I dont know how to explain it besides saying they were stiff.....they didn't dance much or sing or scream or you know... act like someone at a concert like Madonna....some people sat in there seats and watched the video screens the whole time......some friends told me this is probaly because the concert was in Canada and they are much more reserved.... as they have seen concerts in London and it was the same.......I guess its just different in the states huh? I really thought this strange acting crowd was the reason Madge didn't engage or talk to the audience much as I think she maybe engaged the audience maybe 3 times at the most. My only gripe is that I didn't feel a connection to her like I have with other performers....You would think being in the 11th row you would......I cant imagine being anywhere else in that stadium unless closer......I rather rent the DVD to watch a concert if that would of been the case. I mentioned this to friends and they all reminded me that Madge is just like that.....She isn't one to beg for your love -- she wants your love and attention as thinks she deserves it rather than giving it.......Her aloofness makes her seem more inaccessible but then again this is more of a character of a a true superstar isnt it? It's a strange contradiction and I guess it has been said that she can be a tough woman to handle onstage. But I think it's good to go in knowing ( which I didn't) what to expect from her as she isn't the type of artist begging for your love. Here is a few pics I downloaded...more to come soon! They are fuzzy as I was dancing like a mad man!!
